From The Editor

Dear Reader,

I always wondered what it would be like to live during a revolution.

Being in the crowd while Martin Luther King delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Witnessing the rise of the Blank Panther Party.  The release of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and countless other artists, poets, activists and entrepreneurs that emerged during tremulous times.

Unfortunately, if you examine our society today you will find some of the same conditions that were present in the past; healthcare disparities, social injustice, political corruption, religious deception and economic uncertainty.

At Essentially Coverd, it is my goal to bring awareness to these issues, challenge the way we have been programmed to think and highlight the revolutionaries of our time who are committed to the restoration of our communities.

Throughout our exploration together, you will be led down paths of my own personal journey and presented with ideas that may be uncomfortable.

As you enter this space, dialogue amongst each other is encouraged and always approached with empathy, consideration and love.

Get comfortable. Light a candle. Prepare your heart and mind because you are now,

Essentially Coverd.
